Industry Town Source Context
For the town itself, the official Industry town site covers municipal services and departments. It makes no mention of a city court. That official page is the town's own account of what it runs.

The town source adds color but does not replace the OCA directory or Austin County JP2 materials for case routing.
How to Search the Industry Court Docket
Every search starts with the court named on your paperwork. A citation from JP Precinct 2 stays with that justice court. A notice naming a different JP, the municipal court, County Court at Law, or District Court runs through its own stream instead. For response options, the Austin County JP2 reply form is the most detailed local source available. Keep in mind it explains how to answer a case, not how to search one. So it will not show you a docket history.
Treat JP2 as the right court docket only under two conditions. Either the notice names it, or the clerk confirms the routing. County Odyssey covers filings handled by the county clerk. Re:SearchTX adds a wider state layer for case lookup. Neither portal promises a full record of every Industry-area ticket. A docket search there may still come up short.
- Read the issuing-court line, citation number, and appearance date.
- If it names JP2, use the official reply form and court contact.
- Mail a JP2 response by the printed appearance date.
- Use the stated payment direction only for the chosen option.
- Ask the issuing clerk to confirm a setting or record copy.
Note: A blank portal result does not prove that no Industry-area case exists.
Read the Issuing-Court Line
Begin with the issuing-court line. A citation headed JP Precinct 2 belongs at that justice court in Austin County. A notice naming some other JP, a municipal court, County Court at Law, or District Court goes down a different path entirely. The Austin County JP2 reply form gives the clearest detail on how to respond to a JP2 ticket. But it is not a searchable case history.
Treat JP2 as the right office only under two conditions. Either the notice says so, or the court confirms it. County Odyssey covers the county clerk's stream of records. For a wider state layer, re:SearchTX is the option. Neither portal promises that every Industry-area ticket will show up in a docket search.
Industry JP2 at 1646 Main
Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 sits at 1646 Main Street, Industry, Texas 78944. Mail goes to P.O. Box 176. The phone number is 979-357-4477. Doors are open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a lunch closure. Friday hours run from 8 a.m. to noon. The current OCA directory lists Wesley O'Brien Peschel as the JP2 judge in his public role.
The court handles justice-court matters within its authority. That includes local Class C traffic cases and minor civil categories. It is not an Industry municipal court. Nor does it stand in for the Austin County County Clerk or District Clerk. When routing a citation, the issuing-court line still decides where it goes.

Industry JP2 Reply Form
The JP2 reply form lays out the choices. Pay with a guilty or no-contest plea. Request a driving safety course. Seek deferred disposition, ask for a trial, or do nothing. It also asks for identity and contact details. Expect fields for the citation number and date, the appearance date, the alleged violation, the plea, the chosen option, and a signature. Some eligibility statements need notarization. Remember, this is a response form, not the Industry court docket.
| Industry channel | Best use | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| JP2 reply form | Plea, DSC, deferred, or trial response | PDF, not a live docket search |
| JP2 payment direction | Cashier's check, money order, or stated online route | No partial payments; confirm current amount |
| JP2 phone or counter | Date, setting, and procedure check | Have the citation details ready |
| County Odyssey | County-level case and calendar search | No evidence of Industry municipal integration |
For any JP2 inquiry, call 979-357-4477. That number is a court line, not a separate card-payment line.
Industry Court Dates and Settings
Read any Industry-area court date in context. For JP2, the appearance date controls the response window. A mailed reply must carry a postmark by that date. A phone call does not count as an appearance. After a plea is entered, a pretrial or trial setting may follow. The JP2 clerk can tell you what has been set and whether you must attend.
| Date | The appearance date on the citation or a later setting. |
|---|---|
| Time | The time stated for the particular response or hearing. |
| Location | JP2 at 1646 Main when that court directs an appearance. |
| Court | Verify JP2 or another issuer from the citation. |
| Setting Type | Response deadline, pretrial, trial, or another court event. |
Keep a copy of every response and receipt. Before traveling, recheck the Industry court docket with the issuing clerk.
Industry Citation Routing Steps
A payment route may refuse an Industry-area citation. It may also refuse the option chosen. Do not assume the case vanished. Read the JP2 reply-form choices and the issuing-court line again. A DSC request, deferred disposition, trial request, or court-directed matter may call for direct contact with the JP clerk. Often the snag is the option sought, not the citation number.
- Save any payment message or transaction screen.
- Confirm that JP2 is the issuer.
- Call 979-357-4477 with the citation number, name, and appearance date.
- Ask how to enter the plea and whether a setting exists.
The JP2 form requires a mailed response to be postmarked by the appearance date.
Industry Traffic Tickets
An Industry-area traffic ticket becomes a JP2 case only when the notice names that precinct. The docket may then reflect the allegation, the plea, settings, and disposition. Per the reply form, payment accepts a cashier's check or money order, points to austincountypay.com, and allows no partial payments. Paying is one response channel. It is not a full docket search.
Paying and contesting are separate roads. A not-gu plea starts the court's trial path. Wait. A not-guilty response leads down the court's trial path instead. DSC and deferred disposition each demand stated proof and action by the court. The form also warns that ignoring the ticket can bring failure-to-appear consequences, a warrant, collections, or trouble at license renewal. Verify the current form before relying on any amount. For the countywide route, see Austin County traffic court records.
No Industry Municipal Listing
Industry has no municipal court listed in the current OCA directory or in the town's own official materials. That absence is not a guarantee about the future. Local authority can change. What it means is simple. No page should invent an Industry city court, clerk, building, hours, or pay portal. The known court counter for the area is Austin County JP2.
- Issuing court
- The court named on the notice, which controls the response route.
- Appearance date
- For the JP2 form, the deadline tied to the response or postmark.
- Municipal court
- A city court; none for Industry was found in the current inspected sources.
- Justice court
- The precinct court, including JP2 at Industry, with its own authority and records.
If the notice never names JP2 in plain terms, call the issuer or the town first.
Where Industry Cases End Up
City-level Class C cases and ordinance violations from Industry go to JP Precinct 2. Traffic tickets land there too. An appeal can then move up to Austin County Court at Law. That court officially handles both municipal and justice-court appeals. Before filing anything, confirm the method and the deadline with that court. Paying a fine through the vendor is not the same as starting an appeal docket.
Docket flow: JP Precinct 2 › Austin County Court at Law › assigned Texas appellate court, as applicable
Not every Industry case starts in justice court. Misdemeanors filed by the county, probate matters, and County Court at Law civil cases run through the County Clerk. Felonies, family cases, and district civil suits belong to the District Clerk and the 155th Judicial District Court. The Austin County court docket maps out those routes.
Industry German-Settlement Context
The Austin County facts page names Industry the oldest German settlement in Texas. Frederick Ernst settled there in 1830. The 2020 Census counted 532 residents. That put Industry fifth among the county's five profiled incorporated places. That history explains the small-town JP2 counter at 1646 Main. It does not create a municipal court. Where a case goes depends on the notice in hand. How old or how incorporated the city is does not matter. Industry publishes no municipal docket, city-court calendar, or annual caseload.
Public Access to Industry Court Records
For an Industry-area case that JP2 owns, ask that justice court directly. Skip any imagined municipal office. Skip generic county open-records shortcuts too. The Texas judiciary open-records policy explains that case records follow court rules and other law, while Rule 12 covers certain non-case judicial records.
Key rules:
Texas Government Code Chapter 552 recognizes the judiciary boundary in section 552.0035.
Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 76a supplies a framework for sealed civil records.
Texas Family Code Chapter 58 restricts juvenile-record access.
When a search comes up empty, the cause could be the wrong court, a delay, thin portal coverage, a misspelled name, or a restricted record. Ask the clerk who keeps the original docket.
Industry JP2 Appeal Route
Austin County Court at Law handles appeals from justice and municipal courts within its jurisdiction. After a JP2 judgment, that county route is the one to explore. An appeal must still be open to you. Filing an appeal does not pull the original JP2 docket into the County Clerk's hands. Check the deadline, the required filing, any bond or fee, and copies. Confirm the receiving clerk with the courts involved. The state appellate route afterward depends on case type and assignment. Austin County sources link more than one Texas Court of Appeals. Confirm your particular case. A JP2 payment option cannot file an appeal. It cannot track or prove one either.
