Wallis Court Source Views
The official Wallis Municipal Court page documents the city court contact and setting route.

The official Wallis Municipal Court page gathers the court-date, reset, email, and virtual-hearing details in one spot. A separate Wallis payment page lays out the ways to pay a fine.

Handy as that second view is, it covers payments only. It is not a full Wallis docket search.
How to Search the Wallis Court Docket
For a city case, the official Wallis Municipal Court page comes first. It posts contact details, reset timing, and a virtual-hearing link. What it lacks is a public search by name or citation number. The payment page handles transactions and nothing more.
- Read whether the notice names Wallis Municipal Court or Austin County JP4.
- For the city court, gather the citation number, name, and appearance date.
- Call 979-478-7111 or email court@wallistexas.org for status and setting details.
- Use the payment page only after choosing a plea or response allowed by the court.
- Search County Odyssey only if the case belongs to a county clerk stream.
re:SearchTX sits at the state level as a backup, and Wallis does not promise every municipal citation shows up there.
Wallis Three-Day Reset Rule
Wallis has its own reset rule. A reset or continuance request must reach the court early. It is due at least three business days before the appearance date. The city says that timing has applied since November 17, 2021. Remember, it is a Wallis rule. Austin County sets no matching countywide deadline. Send the request early enough for the clerk to act. Then follow up to learn whether it was granted. A request is not an order. Until Wallis confirms the change, the original date still stands. Also note the phone is not answered before noon on court days. Email is the fallback when time is short.
The Wallis Municipal Court
You will find Wallis Municipal Court at 6810 Guyler Street, Building B, Wallis, Texas 77485. Mail goes to P.O. Box 190. Judge Bernice Burger presides. Reach the clerk at 979-478-7111. The fax is 979-478-7537, or write court@wallistexas.org, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Building B is the city's direct record counter. The Wallis docket covers municipal Class C, traffic, and ordinance matters. Austin County JP4 sits separately at 19 Birch Street, also in Wallis. For county misdemeanor, probate, felony, family, and civil records, the county clerks are the right offices.

Wallis Payment Channels
The Wallis payment page lists four ways to pay: online, by mail, in person, or through an after-hours drop box. Make checks and money orders payable to Wallis Municipal Court, and expect an online processing fee. Paying a fine, though, is not a docket search.
| Wallis route | Destination | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Online | City-linked payment service | Eligible payment, not case history |
| P.O. Box 190 | Payment or response allowed by court instructions | |
| Counter | 6810 Guyler, Building B | Direct clerk contact |
| Drop box | 6810 Guyler | After-hours delivery, not instant docket action |
Ask the court first when a plea, DSC request, deferred option, or contested setting is in play.
Wallis Court Dates and Settings
Read a Wallis court date in context. The first date may simply be a plea deadline. A later one could be pretrial, trial, or another setting. That setting comes after the court hears back. A not-guilty plea does not lock in a trial on the citation's appearance date. The clerk can confirm what has been set and whether you must appear.
| Date | The appearance date or a later setting assigned by the court. |
|---|---|
| Time | The time stated for the particular response or hearing. |
| Location | Wallis City Hall unless the court directs otherwise. |
| Judge | The judicial officer assigned; verify the current assignment. |
| Setting Type | Plea processing, pretrial, trial, compliance, or another event. |
Keep copies of every response and receipt. Then recheck the Wallis court docket with the clerk before you travel, since a payment, plea, or request can change the next event.
Wallis Virtual Hearing Route
Wallis runs virtual hearings through ZConnect. That link is an access tool, not a guarantee every matter can be heard online. The official court page says most cases, not all, proceed without an appearance. Questions for the judge require one. The court alone decides the format. Use ZConnect only when Wallis supplies or authorizes the virtual setting. Confirm the date, time, case identifier, and sign-in steps with the clerk. An open meeting link never replaces a plea or reset filing. If the phone is unreachable before noon on a court day, use the published email and keep the message.
Wallis Traffic Tickets
Check the heading on the citation. One naming Wallis Municipal Court belongs on the city docket, while one naming JP4 belongs to the precinct court at 19 Birch Street. Do not pick a clerk just because both addresses say Wallis. The Wallis DSC page lists a $144 local payment, current insurance and driver-license copies, a Type 3A record, and a 90-day completion period. The request must be made by the initial appearance date and accepted by the court. Confirm the amount and eligibility with Wallis first. For other county channels, the Austin County traffic court records page compares them side by side.
Wallis Court Pay Is Not Docket
A Wallis payment receipt proves one transaction and nothing else. It will not show each plea, hearing, reset, or filing. The docket remains the court's event record. The citation starts the case. The payment page moves money. The clerk confirms where things truly stand.
- Reset
- A changed setting requested and granted by the court.
- Pretrial
- A setting before trial used to address the case and next steps.
- Deferred disposition
- A court-approved option subject to terms, not a standard online payment.
- Disposition
- The recorded outcome of the Wallis case.
When a full status history or a copy is needed, request the public municipal record straight from Wallis.
Where Wallis Cases End Up
City-level matters in Wallis, including Class C misdemeanors, ordinance violations, and traffic tickets, belong to Wallis Municipal Court. Want a second look at a judgment? An appeal can go to Austin County Court at Law, which officially handles appeals from municipal and justice courts. Before filing anything, confirm how the appeal must be filed and the deadline that applies. Note that a payment vendor plays no role here. It never becomes the appeal docket.
Docket flow: Wallis Municipal Court › Austin County Court at Law › assigned Texas appellate court, as applicable
Not every Wallis case starts at the municipal court. County misdemeanors, probate, and civil cases in County Court at Law run through the County Clerk. Felonies, family matters, and district civil suits go to the District Clerk and the 155th Judicial District Court. The Austin County court docket lays out these routes so you can tell which office holds the record you need.
Wallis Courtroom Conduct Rules
The signed Wallis courtroom rules are strict about electronics. Phones must be turned off, and recording devices are barred unless a judge approves them. The rules also warn that contempt may be ordered. These are local rules for this courtroom alone. Do not treat them as the policy of other Austin County courts.
Before a Wallis hearing, check the location. It may take place in Building B or through authorized ZConnect access. If you attend in person, plan around the no-recording rule. Parking, security screening, and accessibility questions are best asked of the court directly. It sets those details.
Public Access to Wallis Court Records
Ask the municipal court itself for Wallis records rather than using a general county open-records shortcut. The Texas judiciary open-records policy explains the split: court case records follow court rules and other law, while Rule 12 covers certain non-case judicial records.
Key rules:
Texas Government Code Chapter 552 recognizes the judiciary boundary in section 552.0035.
Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 76a supplies a framework for sealed civil records.
Texas Family Code Chapter 58 restricts juvenile-record access.
A blank result can mean several things in a docket search. The court may be wrong, the entry delayed, portal coverage limited, a name misspelled, or the record restricted. The clerk maintaining the original Wallis court docket can tell you which it is.
Wallis Court Appeal Path
Appeal from a Wallis judgment is possible in some cases. Austin County Court at Law is the key county stop then. Its jurisdiction covers appeals from municipal and justice courts. That does not mean every city record moves there while the case is still open. The city clerk keeps the lower-court file in Wallis Municipal Court until an appeal is perfected.
Get the details straight before acting. Confirm the deadline, the required filing, copy needs, and which clerk receives the papers. The state appellate route depends on case type and assignment. Austin County sources point to more than one Texas Court of Appeals. Verify the one that handles your case. A Wallis payment page cannot file, track, or prove an appeal.
A municipal appeal and a JP4 appeal can both land in County Court at Law. Yet they start as separate Wallis-area records. When asking for the lower file, use the issuing court's case number. A new county identifier only exists once the receiving clerk opens the appeal. Search just one number and you may miss the second docket stream entirely.
Remember, the city pay page and ZConnect handle payment and authorized hearing access. They do not file appeals. Ask the court about the filing method. Ask too about any bond, the record to be sent, and the date each step is due. Keep written confirmation. Asking for information does not preserve a deadline.
